about shandon

Background and Training

Shandon graduated from Teaneck High School in 2015. He began dancing as a freshman through the Teaneck Terpsichoreans program, where he had the opportunity to train under Alfred Gallman, the founder of the Newark Dance Theater in New Jersey. Gallman, who has been a master teacher and choreographer for over 40 years and was called an "artistic son" by Alvin Ailey, helped Shandon develop his versatility in various dance styles, including contemporary, repertoire, and hip hop.

After graduating, Shandon continued to pursue his passion for dance, collaborating with local hip hop companies such as Project D and Chosen Few. A freestyler and battle dancer, he specializes in Flexing, a style of dance that focuses on intricate body movements and contortions. Shandon looks forward to sharing his real-world experience and knowledge with his dancers, inspiring them with the skills and creativity he has developed over the years.
