about kelly

Background and Training

Kelly Bottini started her training at three years old in Bergen County, NJ, in a studio environment, competing for eight years. She continued her dance education, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Dance Studies from Nazareth University in Rochester, NY. During her college years, Kelly also received a Pilates certification through Club Pilates' Teacher Training Program, which ignited her interest in somatic approaches to movement. Kelly remained in Rochester for a year before returning to New Jersey to immerse herself in the NYC dance world.

Through her years of studio training, Kelly studied extensively in tap, jazz, ballet, and contemporary dance, with supplemental training in Latin Jazz, Street Jazz, Hip-Hop, Lyrical, Modern, and Musical Theater dance. At Nazareth she continued to expand her versatility, honing her Limón Modern technique as well as Vernacular Jazz, Rhythmic Tap, Gaga Technique, African-Caribbean, and Contemporary dance.

Kelly auditioned for multiple residencies held through her dance program, securing spots in works brought by Sakuraba Dance Company, Limón Dance Company, Gallim Dance Company, Urban Bush Women, and Rogue Wave, working with Yoshito Sakuraba, Daniel Fetecua Soto, Donterio Culp, Tendayi Kuumba, and Kentoria Earle. These opportunities led her to work with Katie Messina, starring in her residency piece and eventually interning for Rogue Wave in NYC. Recently, Kelly has been freelancing around New York State and continuing her studies at Broadway Dance Center.
